About Me
Allison Gervais therapist MFT

I am a licensed therapist, community advocate, and mental health empowerment lecturer, who draws on a

unique variety of clinical training, professional and lived experiences in the formation and delivery of evidence-based and creative mental health strategies. I work with adults and teens at my private practice in Marin. I'm

also an onsite and offsite EAP therapist for tech company employees. In addition, I supervise intern therapists to help them learn and grow during their path to licensure. I believe everyone can make measurable progress through psychotherapy to understand, manage and overcome challenges, and achieve their personal mental and emotional wellness goals.

Before establishing my private practice in Marin and San Francisco, I provided individualized and group

therapy, case management and crisis intervention through the Behavioral Health and Recovery division of the

Marin County Department of Health and Human Services and local nonprofit agencies serving individuals and families seeking trauma therapy, substance abuse treatment and parent education.

I was a guest lecturer at Dominican University of California graduate psychology course, Advanced Counseling Techniques, Client Advocacy and Collaborative Care and at Eastern Illinois University psychology program course, Family Life. In addition, I was a distinguished speaker at women's empowerment conferences, Life Moxie and Money Wi$e Women. I also developed and implemented an Art Therapy curriculum for a women's in-patient substance abuse facility to help foster healing through creativity.

I earned my Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from the University of Maine.

Before entering the field of applied psychology and mental health, I worked in the finance industry, and helped to form a mortgage brokerage in San Francisco.

I am parent to two teens who I encourage to make courageous mistakes, embrace curiosity, and move through the world with kindness.
