Are you feeling worried, stressed, depressed or stuck?
I provide support for people who feel overwhelmed or would like to work through a life challenge. I can help you find ways to untangle your thinking and learn strategies to cope so you can feel more balance in your daily life. We can collaborate on a plan to get you back on track.
Would you like to improve your relationships?
As we grow and change, so do our relationships. I help individuals and couples improve their communication skills, recognize unhelpful patterns, make sense of and adjust relationships to strengthen self-worth.
Are you and your partner looking to work on your relationship together?
I specialize in working with couples who are dissatisfied or feel unfulfilled with their relationship. I provide a safe environment to understand how and why your relationship got to this point, and explore ways to make changes toward repair, strengthen bonds or de-couple.
What is it like to work with me?
I’ve been described as engaging and open-minded with a good sense of humor. I provide a safe space to empty your concerns, assist you to problem-solve and learn more about yourself along the way. I'll guide you to view problems from different angles and help you recognize patterns and themes that show up in your life. We can co-create an action plan for in-between sessions so you can get the most out of therapy.
What type of therapy do I practice?
I use a combination of therapy styles based on my expertise combined with what you would like to gain from therapy. Most people benefit from a combination of styles, which we can talk about and determine what will be the best fit for you. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT and ACT), which are both evidence and skills-based. For people who are curious to learn more about themselves or others on a deeper level, I offer psychodynamic and talk therapy. For individuals, couples and families, I lean toward Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman theory. Many people aren't aware there are so many different styles and models of therapy. I will ask you questions to help determine the best path for you.
My philosophy
Every person’s experience of mental challenges is unique. I separate people from their problems in order to highlight their strengths. I prefer speaking in terms of “mental wellness” rather than “mental illness." This shift in perspective promotes healing and discourages mental health stigma. Going to therapy doesn't mean there is something wrong with you. It means you want to be the best version of yourself and would like support doing so. I don't believe therapy needs to last a long time to be effective.
Are we a good fit?
